About our Store

Yasmin Zaman is a designer whose label embodies the personal style and sensibility of the woman behind it. All those women who like to look as if their garbs were effortless not anxiously selected and over done, the Yasmin Zaman label designs with the fulfillment of that wish in mind. A label, that can be defined in two words ‘simple’ and ‘tasteful’.

Yasmin Zaman’s clientele has grown tremendously within a few span of years, an eclectic niche clientele which respects her elegant and tasteful design aesthetics. Yasmin in all her collections, Essentials, Formals, Suzani, and Bridals uses a lot of traditional handicrafts and tries to revive the ancient crafts, pure fabrics and classic threads by amalgamating them with contemporary silhouettes.

The designer’s love for art and textile design dates back to her days as an art student and later as an art teacher at the prestigious Karachi Grammar School where she curated an art exhibition to celebrate 150 years of KGS. Yasmin has studied ceramics, sculpture, and life drawing at the Inverlochy School of Art in New Zealand.

After a series of successful exhibitions, Yasmin participated in the 2013 Pantene Bridal Couture Week for which she was acclaimed by audiences and the media alike. Faisal Qureshi, Editor Dawn Images, published,

“Yasmin Zaman’s exceptional cuts and silhouettes impressed all round…”.

While her prét wear is soft, feminine and bear a modern appeal for women across horizons and age groups, her bridals are opulent and multi-dimensional. Saadia Qamar of Express Tribune, stated,

“Her collection was fun, colourful and full of oomph. Yasmin drew inspiration from the motifs and patterns of Mughal art and architecture. Although it is a clichéd era to base a collection on, Yasmin put forth her unique perspective of it. Fusing the art of Central Asia and the subcontinent, the line comprised vibrant colours such as orange and green. Net saris with appliquéd borders and traditional lehenga cholis exuded the ethereal elegance that the Mughals were known for. With aari, zardozi, kamdani and hand-printing on  mainly jamawar, the collection highlighted the fact that no matter how much the world of fashion evolves, traditional designs are timeless.”

Her label is currently stocked at Labels Faisalabad, PFDC Delhi and Collage Dubai. She is also available for orders on couture and luxury prêt via appointment at her studio based in Karachi.
